Journal # 20

My role in this project is bringing our groups resume to life. Skyler has given the midnight mafia a great start with her resume, giving a great description of the tasks the must be complete and the requirements for the job. What I will do to add on is extend and to make our resume different than everyone else’s.

I believe that our job description itself is the strongest part of our project. It gives you an understanding of the duties that must be handled and the type of candidate that we believe deserves the opportunity. Not only that but we believe that our key competences will separate our projects from the rest.

Why would you like to work for our company?

What separates you from the other candidates?

What about our resume caught your attention to make you want to apply?

After being an observer and an interviewer I feel like I saw a lot of similar ideas that I plan for my interview in a sense but each group found a way to make the interviews their own. The Goofy Dumplings when they interviewed me asked me questions like, “Who is Wesley Chandler? What’s your work with your degree? How can you help the company?” It felt like somewhat of a real interview in a sense. The plan for our teams interview is to get the know the interviewee more. See what their work ethic is like, how they would act around their coworkers, and see how they would benefit for our team. For the interviewer I want to see how long it’s going to take them for a response, and if they are willing to give the effort we are looking for.

Last class my group got to be the interviewers and it was a cool experience to be on the other side for once. The goal the Midnight Mafia wanted to achieve was getting to know the interviewee’s not only just as a worker but as a person as well. How we achieved that was asking them more personal questions about themselves and a few scenarios that they have been through before.
