Workshop Experience
After my peer review time in class with Natalie and Quinnly I feel like I’m at a much better spot in my article than I was before class had started. Beforehand while I was writing I was only focused on writing my piece overall and not actually the structure itself. Luckily my two group members gave me great advice to help me be in a more comfortable spot for myself.
For starters they told me to only use the last name of the person I am writing about throughout the article. It makes the article look much more professional and does not make it seem like you’re talking about another person. The next advice I was given was to specifically use my last quote as my conclusion sentence. It resonated with both of them very well and I think it is the perfect way to end this article off. It is nearly a must to finish your article with a conclusion to create a strong ending for the audience to sit with. They also gave me ideas for my heading since I was waiting to finish my writing to come up with it. Make sure that I can give an idea of what my story is about in my sub heading and to make sure that the heading itself pops in a sense.
Everything they said was not judgement, they also had many positive things to say about my piece. They really enjoyed my interviews of other people talking about the positive things Ray does around for the UNE community. Another person talking about his goods and not him directly will show that
I’m not being biased. They also enjoyed that I was able to show both Ray’s basketball life but show that he is much more than just an athlete. In the end I think after my peer review I will be ready to finish off my article in a positive manner.
