For my final draft of this project I wanted to make sure that I followed our rubric as close as possible. On our first assignment we had a similar assignment about technology and instead of trying to get the most points possible I tried improving our professor with my own wiring skills. This time around I wanted to take the right approach, for starters I began to focus on my introduction paragraph. I really wanted to lure the reader in, but also introduce the authors as well as their passage as well. The two passages I decided to use for this assignment were Kevin Kelley, “Technophilia”, and Sherry Turkle, “Empathy Diaries”. For this I tried to use the techniques given to us from our book They Say I Say. When it came to our body paragraphs my goal was to try and show how these writings were alike as well as stating my opinion on if I believe or disagree with these authors’ opinions. My idea was to use first person experiences since I used to work with younger children and have a four year old sister. I brought up the positives and opportunities that technology has given us and the negatives that these devices have done to my generation as well as the younger generation. Overall this writing helped me slow down my work and realize that everything will not be finished in a day or two. In order for you to get the results you want you have to take your time.
