For our first writing professor Miller wanted us to give our take on how much technology plays a role in our lives whether it is positive, negative, or both. Looking back at my first draft compared to my final draft you can see a significant improvement in my writing. To tell you the truth I was not as focused on this assignment the first time compared to us finishing the final product months later. I was letting my outside life affect my school work. Once I met with professor Miller after class mid semester my focus in all my classes took a big turn. For my global revision I wanted to make my sentences flow like a story. What I did was go back and revise each sentence, switching words or cutting sentences that were long. For example, in my first draft I didn’t get into depth in my introduction sentences of the first body paragraphs. “Online learning platforms provide opportunities for continuous learning development, democratizing access to education to pursue their intellectual interests and aspirations.” In my final draft I gave the reader a much better understanding on the topic I was bringing up. “Online learning platforms, educational websites, and digital libraries provide opportunities for continuous learning and skill development, democratizing access to education and empowering individuals to pursue their intellectual interests and aspirations.” For the global changes I made simple changes with my word choice as well as fixing my repetition.In conclusion this assignment showed the progress I made from the beginning of the semester to the end.
