ritI believe that my journey throughout this article was a fun one for me. For starters as a writer I got to learn how to get more comfortable with writing about another persons goals and hard work that they have put in instead of mine. Using the technics that we had gone over in class such as keeping each paragraph short to not lose the reader, hooking the reader with the sub headline, and having a strong ending by using a quote. As an editor this was the most difficult task for me because of the way I started writing this piece. I was worried about just writing the article itself and not focused on how an article should be written so I had to go back and space out my paragraphs so they were not like an essay, figure out a interesting headline and sub headline since I waited for the end for that, and fix my error of using James’s first name throughout the entire writing. The workshop was my favorite part because my team helped me get my writing where it needed to be in the end. They helped give me ideas and answer my questions so when it was time to finish this piece I was much more confident than I was before walking into class that day. In the end I can say that this article not only helped me as journalist but helped me write in a much more professional way than I have before.
